Katherine Terrace, the town's main street, gains a proper sit-down cafe in this small family-run room, where the day begins with all-day breakfast and moves through toasties, homemade pies, salads and a case of house-baked cakes. Travellers breaking the drive between Darwin and the Red Centre, or heading out to Nitmiluk Gorge, tend to end up here, and it is often described by the people passing through as the best breakfast in Katherine. The kitchen also caters office lunches and gatherings. Trading from morning to early afternoon, it functions as much as a community meeting point as a place to eat, an unglamorous but dependable fixture in a place where independent hospitality is thin on the ground.
