Piper Street is Kyneton's restored heritage strip, and this family-run room earns its place on it by growing much of what it serves — organic vegetables come from the owners' own market garden, supplemented by ethically sourced local produce and fair-trade coffee. The menu is a fusion of cafe classics and home-style Sri Lankan cooking, and while it isn't a fully vegetarian kitchen, the plant-based side is genuine: a rotating spread of vegan and gluten-free dishes plus vegan sweets made on site. It trades Wednesday through Sunday as a daytime spot, drawing Macedon Ranges regulars and Piper Street browsers over coconut pancakes and generous plates. The farm-to-counter honesty is the appeal — few cafes can point to the paddock their spinach came from — and it gives plant-based visitors a grounded, produce-led reason to stop in Kyneton.
